The European Refugee Crisis:
A migratory visualization
As reported by the UN Refugee Agency, the UNHCR, over 12 million people of concern (refugees, asylum-seekers and/or migrant) are staying in Europe by the 31st of December 2020.
Different organisations collect extensive amounts of data covering the migrational events around these people.

On the map charted below you can observe the magnitudes of the migration flows into Europe accross different routes.
Frontex, the European border management agency, collects data on Illegal Border Crossings (IBCs) among different routes taken accross African Mediterrenean, Adriatic and Balkan regions. Using your mouse wheel you can scroll through time. The graph below shows the amount of migrant that applied for asylum for most applying nationalities.
